MAN KILLED IN HOTEL ROOM

On Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at 8:42 p.m., police and paramedics responded to a shooting at the Intown Suites in the 400 block of S. Independence Blvd. At the scene, they discovered he victim shot to death in his room. The victim, Charles Barnes, age 36, from New York, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only registered occupant of the room.

Investigators believe Mr. Barnes was shot after a brief argument at his door. Two black males were seen running from his room and fled in a newer model Nissan 4-door, possibly an Altima, driven by a third black male who was waiting for them.

The first suspect fleeing the room was described as 5' 9" to 6', medium build, with short hair, in his mid 20s. He was wearing a white jersey with a number, possibly 21 on it.

The second suspect was described as short, with a stocky build, in his mid 30s. He was wearing white t-shirt.

There is no other description available on the driver of the vehicle.
