Cold Case Homicide

On Tuesday October 25, 1988, at approximately 5:00 pm, Virginia Beach Police responded to the parking lot of Chesapeake House on the Bay, 3558 Shore Drive. There they located the body of 46 year old Emory Eli Carroll Jr, who had been shot several times in the head at close range.

Carroll lay on the ground by his blue 1975 Ford van. The keys were still in his hand. It is unknown if Carroll was about to leave or had just arrived.

Carroll had moved into the condominium in July and worked at the Naval Air Rework Facility as a civilian. Mr. Carroll was a 46 year old white male who had gray hair, hazel eyes, 5' 8" tall and weighed 185 pounds.
