Cold Case Homicide

On Tuesday, April 19, 1994 at 3:15 a.m., Virginia Beach Police and Rescue responded to a report of an unconscious man lying in the alley way in the 5800 block of East Hastings Arch in the Lake Edward section of the City. The man was discovered by a passerby enroute to work.

When officers arrived on the scene they found a 31 year old male with a gunshot wound to the head. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The man has been identified as Robert A. McFarland, age 31, of the 5800 block of Pickering Street, Virginia Beach. McFarland's body was transported to the State Medical Examiner's office in Norfolk for examination.
