Cold Case Homicide

On Thursday, April 17, 1997, at approximately 6:00 p.m. Virginia Beach Police and paramedics responded to a reported shooting in the 5500 block of Aurora Drive located in the Diamond Springs section of the city.

When police arrived they discovered a man lying in the driveway of his home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Rudolph Stewart Jr., 39.

Homicide Investigators are seeking assistance in finding a medium blue Toyota that was seen fleeing the scene east on Aurora Drive after the shooting.
