Cold Case Homicide

On Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 2:30 a.m., Police and Paramedics responded to the 4600 block of Downeast Court in the North Beach Apartments. A 911 call indicated that someone had been shot at this location.

Upon their arrival, Police and Paramedics discovered a man's body inside the door of the apartment. He had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe that the resident answered the door and was shot, preliminary investigation does not show any evidence of forced entry.

The victim was identified as Michael Ryan Snapp, 19, of the 200 block of St. Lo Court, Newport News. He was a student at Virginian Wesleyan College.
