Cold Case Homicide

Shortly after midnight on Sunday July 10, 1988, the body of 27 year old James Allen Sutton was found in the 5500 block of Gower Place near Hampshire Lane, in the Lake Edward section of the city. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

He was taken by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hosptial, where he died.

Little is known about Sutton's activities before the shooting, but he was believed to have been in the company of an unidentified man.
