Cold Case Homicide

On Friday November 9, 2001, at 2:08 a.m., a man was shot in the head while sitting in the passenger seat of a friend's car. The driver had gone inside the Holiday Inn located at 5655 Greenwich Road, to inquire about a restroom. While talking to the hotel clerk, a shot was heard outside, the driver ran outside to find his friend, Zedric D. Daniels, age 20, of the 1200 block of 20th Street, Newport News, suffering from a head wound.

Mr. Daniels was pronounced dead at the scene.
